The Ferrari F40 is a collector's item we don't see going down in value any time soon. Turning one into a race car isn't the smartest financial idea, so one man decided to build one of his own.

Steve Cox of New Zealand constructed this tube-frame chassis race car with body panels resembling an F40 back in the early 2000s. Powering the car is a dry-sump 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 sourced from a Lexus that makes around 750 horsepower. It sounds nearly as brutal as the real thing.
