The Belgian Forest Was Filled With 911 GT3 Rally Cars Last Weekend

It seems to be the car of choice for many teams this season. We're all for it.

As far as rally cars go, Porsche 911s are some of the best. They're not always the fastest, but their looks and wonderful flat-six sounds certainly make up for it. The Spa Rally in Belgium happened this past weekend, and no less than five 911 GT3s showed up to compete.

The was on the scene to film the action, and got plenty of great footage. The cars, all pre-facelift 997-generation 911s, are fully equipped to handle the rigors of stage rally, with heavy-duty suspension and rally-spec tires. Despite not being originally designed for this type of driving, they look totally in their element.

The best part about these cars, of course, is the sound. All five cars used a naturally-aspirated flat-six making at least 400 horsepower, sending power to the rear wheels. It makes for some intoxicating noises, as well as some serious sideways action.
