Rally Sardinia 2019 Was Nothing But Jumps and Dust

Visibility was at a premium at the eighth round of the WRC championship.

Some of the fastest rally cars on earth visited Sardinia, an island in the Mediterranean Sea to the west of Italy, last weekend for the eighth round of the 2019 World Rally Championship. It was nothing but jumps and clouds of dust.

It was the Spanish duo of Dani Sordo and Carlos del Barrio who took victory overall at the wheel of their Hyundai i20, beating out the M-Sport Fiesta squad of Teemu Suninen and Mark Salminen by just over 13 seconds. Known for its narrow stages and intense heat, Sardinia is always a highlight on the WRC calendar, with tons of fans flocking to the island to watch the action go down.

The YouTube channel was on the scene to witness the race, and caught a whole bunch of great footage. The dry weekend meant lots of dust in the air, kicked up by the top-spec rally cars constantly taking flight. If you could keep the dirt out of your eyes, it seems like it was a hell of a time.
