IndyCar's 2018 schedule has one substantial change: Watkins Glen International is no longer on the calendar. The upstate New York road course will be replaced by Portland International Raceway for the Labor Day weekend race at the beginning of September.
Additionally, the Phoenix Grand Prix, held on April 29th this year, has been moved to April 7th, while Long Beach has been moved up a week to April 15th. The Indianapolis 500 will be held on May 27th, while the double header in Detroit takes place June 2nd and 3rd.
Currently, there are 17 races on the 2018 calendar, but an additional race at the Formula 1 circuit in Mexico City is still being discussed as a possible addition to the calendar sometime in August—there's no word on when (or if) that race will be finalized, however.
