Kevin Magnussen, who found out McLaren F1 no longer needed him on his birthday last October, might join the Renault's F1 team for the 2016 season to replace Pastor Maldonado.
, Magnussen is ready to sign a deal over the next few days with Renault. After a disagreement between Renault and Maldonado's sponsor, PDVSA (Venezuela's state-owned oil and gas company), this move would make sense since Maldonado's heavy backing from PDVSA is essentially the reason why he was hired in the first place.

If Maldonado does wind up being replaced by Magnussen, he won't necessarily be out of a job: Autosport says that there are still two available seats at Manor, whose team has not announced its lineup yet.
