The Camaro GT4.R is powered by a race-prepped version of the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 that powers the production Camaro SS, backed up by a sequential six-speed paddle-shift transmission and limited-slip differential, both provided by Xtrac. Engineered with input from Pratt & Miller, the team that's helped the Corvette rise to motorsports dominance, it's sure to be a serious competitor.
With bodywork inspired by the street-legal, track-ready 650-horsepower Camaro ZL1 1LE, the Camaro GT4.R sports aggressive aero features front and rear. It'll compete in the GTS class in the Pirelli World Challenge, and in the Grand Sport class of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.
The car makes its race track debut this weekend with Blackdog Speed Shop entering two Camaro GT4.Rs in the Pirelli World Challenge season opener at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
