If you're the type who doesn't care about tradition, you're probably wondering how the mid-engine Porsche 911 race car drives. Unfortunately, Porsche has restricted the RSR to factory teams since its release back in November. But that may be about to change, according to this latest report.
got a chance to talk to Porsche's head of Motorsport, Dr. Frank Walliser, who revealed some plans for a potential RSR customer program. "We did not make a final decision on [customer cars], but we have a lot of people asking for them, a surprisingly high number," he said.
Walliser told Sportscar365 there's been requests from race teams in Europe, the U.S. and even Asia to purchase the mid-engine 911 RSR.
"We are preparing a business case at the moment and will, I hope in the next two or three months, make the final decisions," Walliser added. "We should know following Le Mans."
