This list of things I want to accomplish in my life is quite long. Apart from the common things like a nice house, big garage and 25 classic Ferraris, I also want to be a pro race car driver, a rockstar and an astronaut.
But I also want to set a world record, and now I may get the chance.
of CleanMPG.com has set up a challenge. Along with a select team, he plans to take three new Audi TDIs from Los Angeles to New York City while besting the EPA rated highway mileage. So, the man who literally invented the word hypermiling is going to take a few cars across country. Big deal, you say? Well then lets up the stakes.
How about pulling the same stunt in less than 48 hours? What about making one of those cars a 2-ton Q5 SUV? Oh, and that "select team" I mentioned? I am one of them. Yes, the idiot you see here.
You read that correctly, Road & Track has been invited on a fuel economy challenge. This could get interesting.
We're scheduled to start our journey around 10 AM this Saturday, Spetember 7. If you want to keep up with all the action, keep your eyes glued to the Road & Track , and pages. You can also follow me on Twitter for some of the more random thoughts that run through my head this weekend, but be warned; it's scary in there.
