If you thought the from this summer was fast, just wait until you see a proper race car set a lap. Spoiler: it's absurdly quick.
German Touring Car Championship driver and Nürburgring 24-Hour winner Augusto Farfus Jr. got the opportunity to drive his 480-horsepower BMW M4 DTM car around the Nordschleife as part of a Shell Helix oil promotion last month. He was there to give a few sweepstakes winners a ride around the track, but in the process, he inadvertently set a 6:14 Bridge-to-Gantry lap time.
According to , the car "was adjusted for the specific track conditions on the Nordschleife," which, combined with perfect conditions and Farfus's immense talent, led to a scorching lap time.
The craziest part? It looks as if he's not even trying that hard. Several times during the lap, he slows down for corners to talk to his passenger, even taking the time for a high-five.
Nonetheless, the onboard video from Farfus's helmet is quite the watch. It's rare a car goes around the Green Hell this fast, so you don't want to miss it.
