Everyone knows the Tesla Model S is fast. Videos have been popping up left and right of owners showing off the car's absurd acceleration in drag races and street launches. Now, thanks to Tesla's recent "Ludicrous+" update, P100D owners are breaking records again.
Ludicrous+ was first released as an over-the-air update earlier this month. It's a performance mode exclusive to Tesla P100D cars that offers a slight improvement to the car's already stellar acceleration. Since the update was released, owners have been recording hypercar-level 0-60 times of less than 2.4 seconds.
Brooks from and his pals brought a few Ludicrous+ Model S P100Ds to the drag strip to find out just how much performance the updated electric four-door offers. The result was a staggering 10.72-second run at 120.27 mph, officially the fastest quarter-mile ever set by a stock production four-door sedan. It beat the previous record-holder—a Tesla Model S P100D without the Ludicrous+ update—by 0.04 seconds, not to mention surpassing machines like the Nissan GT-R and Acura NSX. , or watch the full video below.
