What can you do when your Mini 1275 GT is facing a one hour race at a very fast historic track, with competitors such as 3.0 Ford Capris, 3.5 Rover SD1s and 5.7 liter Chevy Camaros? Well, you can hope for some rain, do everything you can to maximize your cornering speed, and try not to crash into anything bigger when you eventually get passed on the straights.
Nowadays, you can spend a whole lot of money on a classic Mini if you want the best, complete with a more powerful engine and a bespoke interior. But Patrick Motorsport and the team at Swiftune chose another way to spend a lot on the tiniest five-seater. Their Richard Longman-tribute 1275 GT was pretty much built to compete against the best of the classic touring cars at Goodwood Members' Meeting, and it does that job remarkably well, being on three wheels most of the time.

With its wider front track helping in the corners and bonnet shaking the entire time, the Mini with the twitchiest rear end managed to finish at 5th overall this year, with Nick Swift and 2013 BTCC champion Andrew Jordan behind the wheel. Then, it was time for a well deserved beer.
