Mercedes-AMG might be gunning for overall Nürburgring glory with the Project One hypercar, but its other cars are already doing impressive things at the famous track. In the hands of Christian Gebhardt, of Germany's Sport Auto magazine, an AMG E63 S Wagon just set a new lap record. Running a 7:45.19 at the Nordschleife, the AMG E63 S is now the fastest wagon to ever lap the track, and one of the fastest four-doors too.
This`1 is not entirely surprising given that the E63 S Wagon packs 603 hp from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and pairs that with a clever all-wheel drive system. Still, it's impressive for something that can carry a small family and all their stuff in luxury.
This laptime is also a huge improvement over the last E63 S, which ran a 7:55 in . Oh, and that last-gen E63 S was a sedan, making the new wagon's record that much more impressive.
