This Is the 2019 Ford Focus

While the Fiesta might not be coming here, the same can't be said about Ford's flagship hatch.

Hot on the heels of the news Ford will end Focus RS production in April, the company has revealed an all-new Focus for the global market, set to arrive in North America in late 2019. With new looks, a bigger cabin, and a whole bunch of tech, it's sure to be a hit.

Like the last Ford Focus, customers will be able to choose between hatchback and sedan bodystyles. There's also a wagon version, but like the last-gen car, don't expect it to be available in the US. Like the new Fiesta, the new Focus can be configured in a luxurious Vignale trim, an upscale Titanium trim, a sporty ST-line trim, or a crossover-esque Active trim depending on the market it's sold in.

Standard tech includes a much-improved suspension, a re-engineered electric power steering system, and a trio of drive modes—normal, Sport, and Eco—allowing drivers to adjust response from the engine, transmission, and steering. Additionally, wireless charging, adaptive cruise control, active park assist, adaptive front lighting, and evasive steering assist are available as options, depending on the market region.

Ford has yet to reveal powertrain options for the new Focus in North America. In China, the car will get the company's well-known 1.0-liter three-cylinder Ecoboost engine, as well as an all-new 1.5-liter Ecoboost engine. In addition to those engines, European buyers will get a different 1.5-liter gasoline engine, as well as a 2.0-liter diesel option.
