Audi is going all-in on electrification, with its first all-electric car, the e-Tron Quattro SUV, set to make its debut this year. This seems a lot cooler than an SUV, though. Audi just announced its bringing an electric supercar concept to Monterey car week next month, the PB 18 e-Tron.
Based on the teaser above, it looks like it'll be pretty extreme, with a low, wide stance and pronounced fenders. Audi says it's inspired by its Le Mans-winning R18 hybrid LMP1 car.
Until then, we're left to speculate. Audi is developing its own EV platform for the e-Tron Quattro, but it's also going to use the Porsche Taycan's platform for the e-Tron GT four-door, which is set to arrive in 2020. And there's no telling if Audi will build this car or not. An electric flagship would be great, but perhaps not the most realistic thing.
We can't wait to see it in any case. And we won't have to wait long. Audi will pull the wraps off this car at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on August 23rd.
