Chevy might be working hard on the upcoming Corvette ZR1 and the mid-engine C8, but it hasn't forgotten about 2014-2016 'Vettes too. At SEMA today, Chevrolet announced a new $350 calibration kit for 2014-2016 Corvette Stingrays and 2015-2016 Corvette Z06s equipped with Magnetic Ride Control. It promises better ride and handling, and in the case of the Z06, faster lap times at the track.
At GM's 2.9-mile Milford Proving Ground handling course, a 2016 Z06 equipped with this calibration was over a second quicker than before. At a technical circuit like Milford, that's a notable improvement.
This upgrade offers new damper calibrations in Tour, Sport and Track modes for all 2015-2016 Z06s, and 2016 Stingrays not equipped with the optional Z51 performance package. Z51-equipped 2014-2016 Stingrays just get new calibrations in Tour and Sport modes. Interestingly, Chevy isn't currently offering any upgrades for the Corvette Grand Sport, but that other models may get similar calibration kits in the future.
The calibration kit requires no hardware upgrades, and can be performed at your local Chevy dealer. It doesn't void your warranty either.
