GM'S Latest Fuel Cell


I had already heard (and indeed written) about improvements to GM's automotive fuel cells. But to see the actual hardware makes these FCEV advances all the more impressive. Having weathered extremely tough times—and in fact not completely out of them—GM made it clear in a recent briefing at its Burbank skunkworks that its fuel-cell development was never in jeopardy. Project Driveway has now amassed some 1.2 million miles of fuel-cell motoring in ordinary drivers' hands (the likes of us included). GM has been running the world's largest fuel-cell fleet for a while now. There have even been a few crashed cars, none with injuries, thankfully.
