Remember McLaren's Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo concept? It was a video-game supercar with an incredibly strange prone seating position created as part of a partnership with Gran Turismo. Well, McLaren just that it's building a new hypercar, codename BC-03, and it could be inspired by the Vision Gran Turismo.

McLaren didn't go into much detail, with a spokesperson telling PistonHeads "BC-03 is a bespoke customer commission being created by McLaren Special Operations." The spokesperson declined to share further information "because the specifics of the project are confidential between MSO and its client." Interesting.

The BC-03 (which stands for Bespoke Commission 03) is different than the $2.3-million Speedtail, McLaren's upcoming three-seat hypercar. PistonHeads reports the BC-03 is expected to be more focused on track performance than grand touring and outright speed. There's no official powertrain info on BC-03, but PistonHeads speculates it'll use a version of McLaren's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 combined with a hybrid setup similar to the one found in the Vision Gran Turismo, meaning an electric motor sending power to each front wheel. Considering McLaren wants all of its cars to be hybridized in some way by the year 2025, this makes sense. PistonHeads also says it'll be more capable than the Senna, and use a carbon-fiber body.

two Instagram posts (shown above) that seem to have come from a private McLaren presentation, confirming the BC-03's existence. X_marc_the_spot, one of the accounts, claims in a comment there will only be five examples built, and it will not have three seats—though none of that has been confirmed by McLaren itself yet.

This isn't McLaren's first bespoke job. Back in 2012 at Pebble Beach, it unveiled , a one-off two-seater with carbon fiber panels and some interesting design cues, built for an anonymous customer for untold sums of money.

The BC-03 is shaping up to be yet another ultra-expensive, ultra-exclusive hypercar from McLaren. We'll just have to wait patiently until the company decides to unveil more.
