Aside from a few more discreet test facilities throughout Europe, the Nürburgring and its surrounding roads remain the industry's favorite validating tool. This week, Bugatti, Bentley, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Mini and McLaren all felt the need to have a go at the Green Hell's 73 corners with a wide range of prototype vehicles.

McLaren brought out Senna MV1203, along with a 600 LT Coupé. Mercedes did rounds with its new generation A-Class, while Audi threw an R8 into the mix. BMW has been testing a hotter M2, as well as a Mini Clubman variant. Bentley got busy with both the Continental and the Mulsanne, possibly testing new components borrowed from the upcoming Flying Spur.

Bugatti's pair of Chirons were likely Sport variants, maybe even equipped with their 3D-printed titanium brake calipers. Volkswagen took the world's fastest shuttle van to the 'Ring, while Porsche went all in with the 992 Turbo Cabrio, the Cayenne Turbo S, the almost-production-ready 718 Cayman GT4, and its first modern electric car, the Taycan. Not a bad fleet for a weekday at the 'Ring.
