Following yesterday's announcement of Bentley's new Bentayga performance specs, details emerged today regarding the luxury SUV's price: the Bentayga can be had starting at $229,100, reports .
That means the Bentayga's price tag is closer to that of a Ferrari 458, which has an asking price of $243,000. This is a bold move on Bentley's part, considering the Bentayga's nearest competitors, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and the BMW X5 M are priced at $157,000 and $98,800 respectively.
Maybe it's the leather upholstery that's driving up the price, the leather that is selected from "only the finest bull hides, all of which are sourced from cool European climates, naturally tanned and never over-printed." Or, maybe it's the hamper set that can optioned with the car that comes a refrigerator, Linley china cutlery, crockery and crystal glass, and a storage area for dry goods.
Maybe you can't put a price on luxury, and even though Bentley has, we're still waiting to see how it matches up to its rivals in the comparison tests once global deliveries begin early next year.
