"I call my rendering of the next Ford GT the GT47, because that's the height of the car in inches. As a modern Le Mans racer/street car, the GT47 is about 8 in. longer and 5 in. wider than the original, and it's fitted with scissors doors. With a longer wheelbase, shorter overhangs and an aerodynamic underbody, the GT47 will be powered by a lightweight V-8 or a turbo 4-cylinder with an electric motor up front. Carbon fiber (some of it unpainted) and aluminum will be used in the construction of the GT47, which is more a modern interpretation of the original than an update of the last Ford GT."
