A legend returns: The Porsche 911 Targa is back and better than ever. The old-fashioned, manually-removable solid roof panel is a thing of the past as the latest Targa sports an electronically-operated glass roof section that slides back and beneath the glass rear hatch in only seven seconds — slightly slower than Targa 4S's 0-60 mph time of only 5.1 seconds. Other features that further differentiate it from the standard 911 coupe include polished aluminum trim that follows the roofline arch from the A-pillar through the C-pillar, a 1.73 in. wider rear by section and full-time all-wheel drive. Starting at $85,700 for the 325-bhp Targa 4 and $95,900 for the 355-bhp Targa 4S, this latest 911 variant can be found in Porsche showrooms starting in December 2006.
