The Threat Is Real
Recently, Ferrari threatened to quit Formula One if the proposed 2021 regulations are enacted. Of course, Ferrari has made threats like this before, but the storied marque has never left the series. But Sergio Marchionne .
At the event revealing the Alfa Romeo Sauber team, Marchionne said that a dialogue has started to find a solution that will keep Ferrari in the sport, but that his threat was serious. Ferrari leaving would have major implications, since it also supplies engines to Sauber and Haas, and they'd depend on Ferrari to remain in the sport. We're willing to bet that Ferrari and Liberty reach a compromise to keep the team in the sport.

GM has added an app to its infotainment systems , which isn't quite what you might think.
Instead of letting you hop on Amazon to order a bunch of dog treats, right now Marketplace is mostly for food or gas. You can order coffee, reserve tables, or buy things at an Exxon. It works through a smartphone connection and only lets drivers access a limited menu that involves no typing, which equals less distraction.
Maybe the Tracks Need Tweaks Too
In addition to the 2021 regulations that'll change the power units for F1 cars, Liberty Media is also looking in to on the calendar to improve the racing.
Ross Brawn, F1's director of motorsport, is working with the tracks on finding areas that could maybe be changed to improve the racing. The team at F1 is also looking in to other eras and features on tracks that had a lot of passing, which they'll likely find are not down to the tracks, but down to the cars not disturbing the air so much behind them.
BMW wants to see in its hybrids and electric vehicles in 2018. The company needs to keep up with electric car sales from other global brands and from Tesla. So far in 2017, BMW has sold 78,000 electric or plug-in vehicles. The goal for 2017 was 100,000 cars, but BMW believes that in 2018 it'll handily beat that target by a substantial number.
