Fall is upon us, which means that, sadly, driving season is almost over for some of us. Here in New York, temperatures are already dipping under the recommended usage levels for summer tires, and soon, ice-racing season will start. At the Nurburgring, snow has already begun to fall. But that hasn't stopped drivers.
This video, shot today during the Nordschleife's tourist session by 'Ring regular on YouTube, gives us an idea of what the weather is currently like at the world's most challenging track. All of your usual suspects come out to play: E36 M3s, rental GT-Rs, and more hot hatches than you can count fill the circuit. As with most wet tourist sessions, there a few slides and a couple of close calls. But things really get interesting when snow begins to fall.
Visibility drops, and so does the speed. Experienced drivers take different lines, while casual drivers take an extra cautious approach. It's interesting to watch how everyone reacts when the toughest circuit on earth gets even tougher.
