Here at R&T, we're big fans of Ken Dallison, an artist and illustrator who has spent more than 50 years bringing cars to life in the pages of Car and Driver, Esquire, and even our own magazine. Now, an independent publisher wants to put together a book showcasing Dallison's best artwork and illustrations. And you can help make it a reality.
ends August 12th and hopes to raise a little more than $20,000 ($27,000 CAD). If it reaches its goal, Today's Inspiration Press promises a 160-page hardcover book featuring hundreds of illustrations from Dallison's career, alongside stories and anecdotes to complement the artwork.
Charles Fox from Car and Driver might have summed it up best when he said "Ken Dallison can draw what you feel when you look at a Bugatti or an airship or a heroic figure. That's his genius: the ability to choose the symbols that summarize, that evoke the feeling of an enterprise or an era."
We'd love to have a book like this on our coffee tables, and we're sure plenty of other automotive enthusiasts would, too. So let's make sure this happens. .
